The more over the top and creative your kills are, the more points you get. Points allow you to upgrade and buy new weapons as well as ammunition. You are fighting through wave and wave of enemies meaning you always need a couple of hundreds of bullets to finish the job. In addition to a large arsenal of firearms, you also have a so-called gravitation whip. The whip allows you to drag objects and enemies from afar right in front of you.

The whip can be used to make awesome skill combination kills. Pull an opponent towards you, shoot him/her in the head several times and finally kick off his entire head!

Unlike the original, the remaster is available completely uncut even in countries like Germany. The game does not take itself too seriously and you can definitely see that in the over-the-top kill-animations. If all the blood and gore is too much for you, you can disable most of the gruesome effects right in the menu. Like the 2011 original, the remaster is powered by the Unreal 3 engine, but it is hardly recognizable anymore. The game offers modern high-resolution textures as well as support for 4K resolution on PC and on PS4 Pro. A Field of View Slider is available in the PC Steam version as well – thank god!

A new feature of the remaster is the ability the play the entire single player campaign as Duke Nukem! A nice gimmick!
