Guys I am in need of some serious help here. I have a CECH 2003B and I am trying to install some CFW so I can play games direct from the harddrive. The system was updated to OFW 4.70 and has never been moded in anyway so I thought I would give it a crack as the blueray drive is toast and would be great for the kids in the car. Although I am a NooB to all this I have spent what feels like weeks trying to source the info and programs on how to do this.

I have got my memory stick all sorted, downloaded the HABIB and FERROX software and have started the installation process through the XMB and through the recovery menu but I either get a message of 8002F2C5, 8002F957 or 8002F165 - all saying the data is corrupt. Please help as I am losing the will to live. I don't know if the downloads are corrupt at source as they are the only ones I can access.

The very first thing you should do before downgrading your console is to create a dump of your flash memory if anything goes wrong during the downgrading process, i highly suggest to create 3 or more dumps and validate them. The pro's in the scene can actually guide you on this. Another thing is you should QA-Flag your console before upgrading to 4.70CFW.

Remember, this is a delicate process and you could ruin your console. You can pay someone to do it for you but in my case, i decided to do it by myself.

The psdevWiki is a great place to get accurate info. (ignore the Progskeet dumps since there are only valing for FAT consoles if i'm not mistaken).
