Try starting your computer in the safe mode, you have to press CTRL after you choose the OS you want to Boot into. If nothing works out try to format your hard drive and start right from the begining, copy all your data to some backup if you have the data. Also if i was at your place i would remove all the partitions on my hard drive if they are start right from scratch. But things change if you have two OS on your comp. Also in today world there is no need to install two OS and then boot into whicheever one you want to. Try using VM machine which is a virtualisation software, you can run windows on Linux box and vice versa.
I use it to run windows XP on my MAC OS X. Also the advantage is that you can have two OS running simultaneously and no need to restart and stuff. But make sure that your RAM is anything greater than 1 GB.
